Dankest Dungeons

During my second year of university, I teamed up with two other
talented students, and we produced our first ever game that could be
considered a complete and playable product. Dankest dungeons is a 2D
platformer making use of the game engine TL-Engine and the Box2D physics
engine, which has the aim to escape the dungeon, you climb ladders,
fight enemies, hunt keys, and escape the never ending cave maze, the
longer you live the longer your score! There is no limit to the number
of levels in this game, as each level is a procedurally generated cave.

In this project, I was responsible for:

  • UI and menu creation and implementation
  • Options and Settings menus and control
  • Character animation programming
  • In game enemies (including visual effects, sound and AI)
  • Sound effects
  • Ambient visual effects (bats! Check out that sine wave movement)
  • Game mechanics including damage to player and enemies
