Hi there! I’m a tutor in games development and software engineering at the University of Central Lancashire – the same university that I graduated with my games development degree! During my evenings when I’m not marking, I’m developing games. Check out some of my projects to find out about the cool projects I’m working on.
I am a regular user of Unity for personal projects and mobile applications (or anything which doesn’t require photorealistic graphics). I have become familiar with Unity and spent lots of time developing within the engine experimenting with gameplay, graphics, and AI inside my projects.
I have experience developing custom graphics engines using Direct X 11 and C++. Whilst I thoroughly enjoy the challenges of writing graphics, I am also enjoying being spoiled by the numerous features of modern game engines that are available for use without the added implementation time! When writing custom engines, I wrote vertex, pixel and geometry shaders using HLSL.
I adore to use Unreal Engine 4 with C++ when teaching students how to create games with photorealistic graphics. I have experience developing both 2D and 3D games within UE4 with C++, utilising spatial partitioning techniques such as octrees, and using Blueprints to aid development.
